Carmela Montgomery is an abstract artist and author from Pensacola, Florida, currently based abroad. Her creative practice spans both visual art and writing, exploring themes of identity, resilience, and the layered complexities of the human experience. Known for her distinctive and intuitive style, Carmela approaches each piece as both an emotional inquiry and a visual conversation.
She began drawing at an early age and later returned to painting with renewed purpose, developing a versatile, instinct-driven approach to abstraction. Her work often centers on the interplay of light and shadow, tension and balance, using bold color, texture, and movement to reflect endurance, growth, and transformation. The resulting compositions are vibrant and open-ended, inviting viewers to slow down, reflect, and discover their own meaning within the work.

Carmela has exhibited at international art festivals, including the Qatar International Art Festival and the Ammon International Art Festival in Jordan. Through her art, she aims to create spaces for connection and reflection, encouraging others to embrace authenticity, courage, and self-expression.
